A prestigious sports club of proud heritage, CS Dinamo has given the nation some of the finest champions in Romanian history.
Located in Bucharest, Romania, the Club was founded in 1948, under the direction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, aiming to become a strong competitor for the Army’s sports club, Clubul Central al Armatei.
In its 55 years of presence at the Olympic Games, the “White-Reds” have won no less than 122 medals (35 gold), out of the 292 (86 gold) secured by Romania in 87 years. Which means that the Olympic contribution of CS Dinamo represents over 42 % of the entire national Olympic record, a legacy on which today’s athletes keep building.
Developing talent in the spirit of hard work and self discipline, CS Dinamo has become a symbol of professionalism in sports.
The President of CS Dinamo is Elisabeta Lipa, the most decorated rower in the history of the Olympics, winning five gold, two silver and one bronze medals. She holds the record amongst rowers for the most years between gold medals, at 20 years. In 2000, the International Federation of Rowing declared her “The Best Rower of the 20th Century”.
CS Dinamo is also open to the general public, providing a high quality range of sports facilities for everyone in the community. The Club’s modern, multi-sport complex is located in the center of Bucharest. Here, clients can enjoy a wide range of sports and fitness activities, from tennis to swimming and athletics, including lessons under the guidance of highly skilled instructors.
