Our founder Ryan Smith earned a master’s degree in civil engineering. It was some of the courses he completed in that program, which first exposed him to finance, economics and business law. After graduate school, he moved to Seattle to build his engineering career and it was there as fate would have it, that he met some people in the financial planning industry. They inspired him to take a leap of faith and work towards getting his licenses. In 2011, he returned home to Salt Lake City with the intention of build his practice. In 2015, he established his own financial planning firm and attained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®) certification. With these achievements, he found his sense of purpose: working with people to improve their lives, their futures, and their family’s future.
