The City of North Miami Beach is located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Originally named Fulford in 1926, after Captain William H. Fulford of the United States Coast Guard, the City was incorporated in 1927 as Fulford, but was renamed North Miami Beach in 1931.
NMB is a first-tier suburb covering five and a third square miles. It is primarily a residential and shopping community. The City provides a full range of municipal services including public safety, water, sewer, and stormwater utilities, sanitation services, public works, parks and recreation facilities, public library, code compliance, planning and zoning, economic development and general and administrative services. The current population is 43,250.
