Located in the dynamic Pilbara region of Western Australia and 1,535km north of Perth, the City of Karratha consists of six towns; Dampier, Karratha, Roebourne, Wickham, Point Samson and the historic village of Cossack.
The City of Karratha is fast developing into a regional destination and home for an increasingly diverse range of visitors and residents. Today, major features of the City include unparalleled access to the Indian Ocean through the Dampier Archipelago and Burrup Peninsula, an extensive calendar of annual events and a growing number of modern recreational facilities and services for residents and visitors.
Home to the Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi people the City also contains the largest collection of indigenous rock art in the world; up to a million estimated individual pieces dating back over 30,000 years.
