Dietikon offers great potential for living, working and leisure. The construction of the Limmattalbahn (2019 - 2022) will support and strengthen the qualitative development of the city.
A comprehensive range of services and utilities, as well as versatile living space - in urban and modern buildings through to traditional farmhouses - make Dietikon equally interesting for singles and families.
Culturally, Dietikon scores points with a varied calendar of events, which regularly brings artists of national or even international renown to the district capital. Traditional events such as the Sichlete, the St. Niklaus parade, the Christmas market or the children's carnival procession are also cultivated and contribute to the identity of the town.
Large areas of forest, a nature reserve of national importance, as well as ponds and three rivers offer space for leisure and recreation. Sports enthusiasts get their money's worth in various sports facilities, in the indoor and outdoor swimming pools or, for example, in Switzerland's deepest ski lift.
Dietikon is also in demand as a location for numerous companies due to its excellent transport connections, its proximity to the airport and the city of Zurich with its universities: currently, around 1,700 companies provide jobs for around 17,000 employees. The Silbern area is considered one of the largest employment areas in the canton and in the Niderfeld area, which is currently in the planning stage, there is still potential for around 3,000 additional jobs.
