The City of Burnside acknowledges that the City is located on the traditional land of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains. We respect their spiritual relationship with this land. We also acknowledge the Kaurna people as the traditional custodians of this land.
Established in 1856, the City of Burnside is one of Adelaide's oldest residential areas, and is well known for its tree lined streets, period architecture and plentiful reserves and gardens within our 30 km² area. Recreational spaces, such as Hazelwood Park, and our tidy, safe, and clean streetscapes, contribute to our City’s character and amenity.
While the City of Burnside is conscious of respecting the City’s past, it also looks to the future with sound civic management and supporting innovation and creativity to achieve healthy lifestyles, community well-being and prosperous local business precincts.
