Circle Mentoring is a new way of mentoring that supports women to “grow to where they want to go” in their careers and their lives. This is a grassroots, mentee-centered mentoring process set outside of the organizational structure. Mentees set the topics, and the mentors both challenge and support by asking meaningful questions, sharing their diverse collective wisdom from lived experience, providing feedback, and celebrating the success of their mentee and their circle. Sessions occur as a group conversation once a month for five months.
The mentoring circle includes one mentee and three to five mentors who meet once a month for one hour over four months via Zoom. Mentoring sessions occur through group conversations with everyone at the same time. This creates a place for deeper discussion, broader learning and multiple perspectives to shine. Everyone involved benefits as the shared perspectives deepen understanding of the topic, self and others.
