The Chicago Food Policy Action Council (CFPAC) facilitates and informs the development of responsible policies that improve access for Chicago residents to culturally appropriate, nutritionally sound and affordable food that is grown using environmentally sustainable practices.
We are currently working on:
-The adoption and implementation of the Good Food Purchasing Policy at the City of Chicago, Chicago Sister Agencies as well within Cook County to increase opportunities for smaller, local, sustainable, humane and fair producers and processors.
-Improving access to farm land for urban and peri-urban farmers.
-Updating regulations and licenses for urban farmers.
