Chicago Dance Institute (CDI) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts education organization founded in 2008 to bring dance to Chicago's youth. Through in-school partnerships, residencies, and public performances, CDI operates as a catalyst to engage children and motivate them towards excellence.
Inspired by the work of Jacques d'Amboise and National Dance Institute, CDI partners with Chicago Elementary Schools, both public and private, to provide arts programming as part of students' curriculum. All of our classes feature live musicians and culminate in a performance. Our programs are provided completely free of charge to the students.
We endeavor to not just make the arts accessible to children that would otherwise not be afforded the opportunity, but to use dance and music as vehicles for self-discovery, discipline, confidence, and expression.
