ChaplainWatch is a faith-based non-denominational charity based in Brisbane Australia. At ChaplainWatch our mission is 'watching out for you when good times go bad'. We undertake this mission in three project areas: NightWatch, StreetWatch and LifeWatch.
NightWatch is a unique, non-authoritarian service operating in Brisbane's entertainment precincts overnight every weekend from Thursday to Sunday, via foot patrols and vehicular patrols and operating NightSafe, our rest and recovery centre in Fortitude Valley. The Night watch team offers a range of services supporting public safety in public spaces, including: crisis intervention; conflict diversion and resolution, first aid, mental health first aid and guidance, secondary victim support and welfare assistance. Th Night-watch service works cooperatively with other official services including Police, Ambulance, City Council, venue management and security, taxi operations and other Brisbane city stakeholders.
StreetWatch is represented in our national homeless support website, vaks.com.au. VAKS stand for 'Vans and Kitchens' and provides a centralised place where services providing free and cheap meals can register the times and places that services are provided. Anyone requiring these services is able to log onto the VAKS website and utilise the simple search functions to plan their next meal.
LifeWatch will soon be launching the TRUST project. TRUST means 'Trauma Response Urban Support Team' and will provide a chaplaincy response at community incidents aimed at reducing the traumatic impacts of acute incidents upon the Brisbane community.
