CAS is a research-led, contemporary arts organisation which exists to support and develop artists, and deliver arts education in the North Hampshire region. Our intention is to grow a sustainable organisation in which our artists and socially engaged art projects can thrive. Our main activities include developing our CAS network, and promoting creative enquiry through our flagship Education and Dissent programs.
Our Education Program is delivered through Artists Residencies, workshops, public art projects and our Art Bus, all of which can bring Arts Award courses and workshops to your organisation or community. Our most successful programs are our Arts and School partnerships. These are a tried and tested model of arts and education partnership which makes it easy for schools to work with external arts practitioners in support of their creative curriculum.
Our Dissent programme explores arts unique capacity to challenge, question and offer alternative ways of seeing. Using the Dissent program we will involve national and international partners in a dialogue about dissent – using events, exhibitions, and a variety of media.
Our CAS Network provides resources, advice, support and opportunities for professional artists post graduation and beyond. When you are a graduate you loose the infrastructure of support, resources, facilities, and advice. CAS bridges the gap between art school and life after education. CAS recognises the individuality of each artist and giving them the space to pursue their own interests and research. We are flexible and respond to the needs of each artist which allows for a greater diversity. By partnering with CAS, schools, organisations, and community groups gain access to a wealth of knowledge and experience.
