Founded in 2003 by a group of Brazilian executives and Iraqis, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Brazil Iraq (CCIBI) has emerged in order to restore relations between Brazil and Iraq after the UN embargo ends.
The House was registered in Brazil as a nonprofit organization, and Iraq, under No. 2D18284. To ensure subsequently due recognition of their actions, the House was also registered with the Federation of Brazilian Foreign Chambers of Commerce, the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
Since its establishment, the CCIBI has stimulated the economic development of Brazil by increasing exports and helped to rebuild Iraq by supporting reliable Brazilian suppliers with products and services of high quality and cost competitive internationally. In addition, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Brazil Iraq certifies all Brazilian products that have Iraq as final destination and issues including Certificates of Origin.
In addition to its commercial efforts, the Chamber has developed and facilitated cultural and social activities that reinforced cooperation between Brazil and Iraq in many areas.
