Ceylon Agro Labs

Ceylon Agro Labs (CAL) is a partnership organization, who believe that Sri Lankan lands are underutilized and the agricultural industry can be developed providing a pre-rooted boost to the economy similar to the proud history of Ceylon agriculture. This would not only help the economic growth but also will be protecting the environment to increase the health stranded of the island. By developing Agriculture sector, unemployment levels of the country can be minimized by a significant amount since 30% of labor force and 48% land area is covering the agriculture sector. As per the current situation and the trends of the country, young generation is moving away from agriculture and looking at other sources of income forgetting the agricultural resources and the climate benefits Sri Lanka holds, making the overall agricultural industry a loss making sector in Sri Lanka. CAL identified this trend of negative growth and saw the opportunity to be an opposite trend setter converting this negativity to positive one. CAL was formed with the core believe in developing the agribusiness sector and with the long term vison of becoming a considerable revenue and employment contributor for the agricultural sector of Sri Lanka. The focus of CAL will not be narrowed only to develop the local lands and providing a quality agro-production to Sri Lankan markets but also will be focusing on bringing foreign direct revenue through export channels to uplift the local economy. At present CAL is a fully functioning agriculture based partnership of three young and energetic individuals who possess over 10 years of combined experience in agriculture and in different corporate industries, who are eager to develop the agri-business portfolio of CAL whilst focusing on the overall development of the sector.
