The Centre for Modeling and Simulation, Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly University of Pune), was established in 2003 with a vision to promote, support, and facilitate academics and research in mathematical modeling and computational simulation, promote use of computation as the "third scientific methodology", promote a problem-centric outlook for real-life scientific and technological problems, promote highly multidisciplinary approaches that transcend (artificial) boundaries separating traditional knowledge domains, nurture expertise in state-of-the-art computing technologies (HPC, grid, GPU, etc.), and design and implement academic and outreach programmes to realize these goals.
The Centre runs an M.Tech. Programme in Modeling and Simulation.
