CLBS was set-up in 2005 and is licensed by the Tertiary Education Commission to operate as a post-secondary training institution. CLBS is also licensed by the Mauritius Qualifications Authority (MQA).
CLBS specializes in the provision of legal and business courses and has a current student population of about one hundred (100) students. Since our inception, we have trained in excess of 500 students, principally on the LLB (Hons) Degree offered by the University of London Distance Learning programme but also more recently on the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) programme. We are the first (and currently the only institution) that has been approved to enter the candidacy phase of the recognition process, with a view to becoming a University of London Registered Centre. We also run every year a series of professional workshops for the financial industry on topics such as Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering, Trust and Company Administration, Tax Planning and Fund Administration and the total number of delegates that have attended our professional training workshops over the years is close to around 1000. Since 2008, we are also running professional workshops in Seychelles in partnership with SIBA, the regulator for non-bank financial services business and SOAPRA, Seychelles Association Of Offshore Practioners & Registered Agents. CLBS has recently been appointed as the education partner of the Central Law Training International (CLT) in Mauritius.
