The Centre commun de la sécurité sociale (CCSS) is a public institution created in 1974 by the legislator, placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Security, and managed by a board of directors.
Its principal administrative tasks consist of:
- The affiliation of the insured in terms of social security
- The calculation, collection and recovery of social security contributions
- The accounting and payment of contributions to the various professional institutions
- The disbursement of salaries and pensions of the personnel of the social security institutions
