The Center for Law, Energy & the Environment (CLEE) at Berkeley Law develops policy solutions to the most pressing environmental and energy issues at the state, local, and national levels. We play a direct role in advancing environmental policy and regularly convene government leaders, academics, legal practitioners, businesses, and non-profits. Our primary program areas are climate & energy, water, oceans, and land use.
CLEE was established in 2006 to oversee and expand Berkeley Law’s nationally renowned Environmental Law Program. In addition to its research mission, CLEE continues to enhance opportunities for students, alumni, and the wider environmental and energy community and has supported the development of the the nation’s first comprehensive courses in climate change law and renewable energy law and policy.
