The mission of the Center for Bionics and Pain Research (CBPR) is to develop and clinically implement technologies to eliminate disability and pain due to sensorimotor impairment. CBPR is a multidisciplinary engineering and medical collaboration between Chalmers University of Technology, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, and Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg. CBPR was founded in 2020 by Dr. Max Ortiz Catalan and thanks to generous donations from the Promobilia Foundation and the IngaBritt and Arne Lundberg Research Foundation.
The core of our engineering group was previously known as the Biomechatronics and Neurorehabilitation Laboratory (ChalmersBNL), which has now grown into CBPR by incorporating medical researchers.
