Ceibal Foundation was created by the Ceibal, a Uruguayan public entity aimed at fostering inclusion and equal opportunities through technology, providing all children and teenagers within the country’s public education system with free laptops and internet access.
The Foundation is an autonomous organisation which seeks to overcome a number of challenges regarding learning and technology mediation by adopting innovative methodologies and through a practical, social, and participative approach. Its aim is to discuss and put forward ideas and solutions to the current and long-term implementation of Plan Ceibal, as well as of other national and international stakeholders within the field of education.

To be a world-class study centre for research, analysis, and discussion on education and innovation so as to bring about better opportunities for learning and social inclusion in collaboration with Plan Ceibal and the community.
Trajectory
Established in 2015, the Foundation has become a renowned entity at a national, regional, and international level, building solid networks to excel at research and innovation, and carrying out and coordinating more than 70 projects, 60 conferences, and 150 publications.
