The company started on a small block of land next to the family homestead in Hall, ACT. The company started with two trucks servicing local dealerships between Canberra and Sydney. Throughout the 80’s and 90’s Carways continued to evolve and the demand for motor vehicle transportation grew. Our fleet and equipment increased with demand, which opened opportunities to include daily services between Sydney and Melbourne, Albury-Wodonga and the Cooma-Monaro regions. With this progression it was fundamental to establish depots in both Melbourne, Victoria and Sydney, New South Wales. The depots proved to be successful and local trucks were then introduced to facilitate local pick up and deliveries of vehicles.
With established depots now in Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney, Carways was expanding and growing with the times, this saw Scott Brown, Bevis’s son, transition from a company driver, into the operations field and progress on to a company director. Scott had the advantage of being mentored by his father and late Uncle Harvey through every stage of these important mile stones, they both instilled invaluable industry knowledge and shared their career experiences with him. Scott utilises this guidance and his own passion for car carrying in making invaluable decisions within the company.
Moving through the years Carways continued to prosper and in September 2000 expanded our foundations to include a depot in Lismore, NSW.
Carways continues to grow and have proved we are the leading family owned, independently operated motor vehicle transportation company. We are dedicated to providing reliable and efficient transport solutions throughout the East Coast of Australia.
