Capital Angel Network (CAN) ranks as a top angel group in Canada. Since 2009 CAN members have invested more than $67M in early-stage companies.
The 2022 investment year saw more than 50% of Capital Angel Network’s direct investments made into startups with a female co founder
CAN primarily invests in the Innovation Corridor, between Montreal and Waterloo, with a focus on Gatineau, Ottawa, and Kanata. Since adopting hybrid investment meetings, investments are placed coast to coast.
CAN’s early funding led to over $700M in additional investment through grants, syndication with other angel groups, and venture capital funds.
CAN’s membership includes more than 55 investors including new and established angels, VCs and family offices. 30% of CAN’s investors are women.
CAN is a Member of National Angel Capital Organization (NACO) and Angel Investors Ontario (AIO), collaborating with angel groups and ecosystems across the country for deal sharing.
