Camp Loughridge provides a quality year-round, intergenerational program and facility in a rustic natural environment for the promotion of Christian growth and spiritual renewal.
Although our history includes a rich heritage through First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa, we were reorganized as an Independent 501 (c) 3 ministry in 1995. We intentionally pursued this strategy to be able to reach out to the broader Christian community in Tulsa.
We desire to be a Christ-centered facility through which true life transformation can take place.
Camp Loughridge, located in southwest Tulsa, has a summer camping program rich in history and tradition.Tulsa's first YWCA camp, then known as Camp Parthenia, began offering summer camps here more than 80 years ago. In 1959, First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa acquired the Camp, and changed its name to Camp Loughridge, in memory of the Reverend Robert M. Loughridge, a pioneer missionary to the Creek Indian Nation. In 1995 Camp Loughridge was chartered as an Oklahoma not-for-profit corporation. This corporation now maintains and operates the 186-acre camp with a full-time, year- round staff.
The camp serves the greater Tulsa area in two primary areas: Summer Camp programs for children and year-round facility rental for groups and organizations. The summer camp programs feature eight weeks of day camp that providea Christ-centered camping experience for well over 1900 children from throughout the Tulsa area. Scholarships are provided for Tulsa’s economically disadvantaged children, and, for many of them, it is their first experience with a wide variety of outdoor activities such as canoeing, hiking, swimming, and learning about nature.
