Cambridge Technology Partners is a consulting firm that works with clients to deliver successful projects and facilitate positive change. We provide end-to-end services from strategic planning and issue analysis to implementing new processes and systems.
We are the antithesis of a typical consulting firm. We work on a fixed time fixed price basis (instead of time & material), we get our hands dirty with our clients (because a pretty PowerPoint deck is never enough), and our ultimate goal is to be no longer needed by our clients. This is why we openly share our methodology, deliver detailed documentation, and take on client employees as core project members to train and develop them.
A little (convoluted) history:
- 1991: Founded in Cambridge, MA
- 1997: Japan subsidiary was founded
- 1999: Reached peak revenue of $628M with 4,000 global employees
- 2001: Novell acquired the global entity and subsequently folded most of it into Novell's e-services division
- 2006: Japan subsidiary joined the Nihon Unisys group (now BIPROGY)
- 2019: Cambridge Technology Partners Japan, as the only surviving bearer of the brand, reenters the US market
Although we have evolved over time and have adapted our service delivery for the Japan market, our core identity and DNA have been directly passed down from the Cambridge MA based consulting firm. We still follow the same RAD (Rapid Application Development) methodology and follow the same six values (Take Initiative, Dedication, Flexibility/Openness, Respect, Honesty, Trust) and guiding principles (Fast, Right, Open, Guaranteed, Business Case, Behavioral Focused).
Cambridge Technology Partners is back. We may have evolved and our methodology may be more sophisticated, but we are still the same culture focused consulting firm obsessed with doing what is right for our clients.
Cambridge is a wholly owned subsidiary of BIPROGY Inc. (https://www.biprogy.com/e/), a public corporation listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
