About
In an emergency: Dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Police, then Mountain Rescue. Be ready to give details of your location, number of casualties, any injuries and your telephone number. Keep the telephone free - we will want to contact you. CVSRT is a registered charity providing a life saving emergency service to the people of the Calder Valley and beyond. The team are all volunteers operating inline with Mountain Rescue (England & Wales) guidelines and under the control of West Yorkshire Police. We work closely with the Police, Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Yorkshire Air Ambulance to locate, treat and recover lost or injured people and also conduct searches for vulnerable missing people around the south Pennine moors and also urban searches in Leeds, Bradford, Halifax and Keighley. Our main base is in the heart of the Calder Valley. We also have rapid response vehicles at Copley and Todmorden. Our operational area encompasses the northern half of West Yorkshire and covers the Calderdale, Bradford & Leeds police divisions. Basically speaking we cover West Yorkshire to the north of the M62 /M621. It costs around £35,000 a year to keep the team operational, all of which is raised entirely through donations from local companies and the generous community - We receive NO direct government funding. We attend on average 60 callouts per year and are staffed entirely by 50 unpaid volunteers. How can you help? • Contribution to our running costs • Donate your own professional skills • Help out with fundraising at one of our events • Join our training sessions as a casualty • Join our Supporters Group Online Donations: MyDonate or PayPal MyDonate: https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/DonateSteps.aspx?beneficiarycampaignid=149 Cheque Donations: Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team, The Treasurer, The Rescue Post, Thrush Hill Road, Mytholmroyd, Hebden Bridge, HX7 5AQ Saving lives in wild & remote places since 1966.
