The Center for Research on the Alpine Environment (CREALP) is a non-profit foundation created in 1968 by the State of Valais and the Municipality of Sion that carries out applied research projects in the field of geosciences, with main activities related with environmental monitoring and natural hazards (geology, hydrology).
The Research Center constitutes a relay structure between the academic world, cantonal and federal public institutions and private companies.
For more than twenty years, CREALP has been closely involved with the Canton of Valais to provide scientific and technical support as well as its expertise in these different fields of activity. It also provides training activities for practitioners and students of universities.
