CLEAR SPRING FIRE AND RESCUE
protects the Five Forks Area located in Southeastern Greenville County, SC. The district covers 22 square miles with an estimated population of 21,000.
Greenville County established the fire department in March 1981 under the original name, East Simpsonville Fire Department. The department’s name was changed to Clear Spring Fire & Rescue on July 1, 2004.
Clear Spring Fire Rescue is a combination department comprised of approximately 45 personnel, Chief, Fire Marshal / Training Officer, 18 career personnel, 12 part-time personnel, and 10 volunteers.
Personnel staff various apparatus stationed at two fire stations in the district. Members respond to more than 1000 requests for service annually.
Department oversight is provided by a seven-member Board of Commissioners appointed by Greenville County Council.
