CEPRI
Established in 1951, China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI) is a comprehensive and multi-disciplinary research institute affiliated to the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC). CEPRI is devoted to R & D, testing and inspection, and technical standard formulation that are of fundamental and universal significance to power grids. It has the task of coordinating efforts of the provincial electric power research institutes under SGCC to build an integrated technical support system.
RERC Renewable Energy Research Center
Founded in 2006, the Renewable Energy Research Center (RERC) was formerly known as the New Energy Research Dpartment and originated from the New Energy Power Generation Institute founded in 1994. In March 2012, State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) determined to integrate the Renewable Energy Research Division of CEPRI and the Clean Energy Power Generation Research Division of SGCC Electric Power Research Institute into the New Energy Research Department of CEPRI. In April 2016, the Renewable Energy Research Center was founded.
It provides technical support for SGCC in the field of renewable energy generation planning, management and operation, mainly engaging in the analysis and evaluation, prediction and meteorological application, dispatch and operation, testing and measurement, control equipment, distributed generation of wind and PV-power generation integration. RERC owns State Key Laboratory of Operation and Control of Renewable Energy & Storage Systems, National Wind Power Integration Research and Test Center and National Solar Energy Research and Test Center. RERC is in charge of running the IEC SC8A secretariat (Grid Integration of Renewable Energy Generation) and the only member of International Measuring Network for Wind Energy (MEASNET) outside Europe and America.
