CDIB Capital was established in 2006, as the private equity arm of China Development Financial (“CDF” or the “Group”) with the objective to deploy and diversify the Group’s proprietary capital outside of Taiwan. CDF is one of the largest and most established merchant banking groups in Greater China and Taiwan’s first and leading direct investment firm with over 50 years of investing experience in the region. CDIB Capital has access to the breadth and strength of CDF’s platform which offers a number of advantages including significant proprietary deal-sourcing, deep industry expertise, extensive network and capital market capabilities, which are typically not available to stand-alone private equity managers. Over the past decade, CDIB Capital has refined CDF’s China investment concepts and developed its “China Plus” strategy. The approach focuses to invest in growth oriented business, provide them with strategic expertise to enable cross-fertilization between China and closely linked economies in the Asia-Pacific region. Since then, CDIB Capital has broadened its investment aptitude managing proprietary capital and third party capital, from a wide range of sources including high-net-worth individuals, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, funds of private equity funds, insurance companies and banking institutions located around the world. CDIB Capital operates independently and manages approximately $1.2 billion in proprietary and third party capital. CDIB Capital has local presence in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Seoul, Taipei and New York.
