Operating in its local governmental capacity (as a public body), the primary duty of the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry is to advance the development and organizational development of the Budapest economy, the integrity of market behavior, and the enforcement of the general, shared interests of economic actors. As the Chamber with the largest number of members, we play a fundamental role in the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce system, namely, we are defining factors within the economic and social aspects of Budapest’s public life. Our objective is not limited to the support of enterprises operating within the local market; rather, through them we wish to exert a positive influence on the entirety of the Hungarian economy to enable enterprises to break through unto the international stage. One of the pillars of our strategic duty is to facilitate foreign trade successes of competitive business associations in Budapest, as well as the development and improvement of international economic ties. Within the framework of our lobbying activity, over the course of our correspondence with the government and local governments, we draft analytical studies and recommendations, issue opinions, and provide guidance. Thanks to the mandatory requirement of Chamber registration, we are able to analyze economic processes by mining detailed and up-to-date data from the resulting database, allowing us to set the path to achieve economic growth.
