Broome International Airport (BIA), is the Gateway to Broome and the Kimberley Region. The airport hosts a mixture of scheduled jet and turboprop passenger services (RPT), extensive General Aviation and Charter services, Helicopter Operations and Coastwatch.
The airport is also the service base of a number of significant Kimberley Industries. These include Tourism, Mining, Offshore Oil and Gas and the Pearling industries. Existing statistics show that for the financial year 2015/16, Broome International Airport will handle close to 400,000 passengers and approximately 40,000 aircraft movements.
BIA is situated close to the Broome Township and the airport reserve is approximately 155 hectares. Apart from operating the Airport and main passenger terminal, BIA operates the largest Heliport in the Southern Hemisphere.
