Brookfield Craft Center

Brookfield Craft Center is recognized as one of the finest professional schools for creative study in America, dedicated to teaching and fostering the skills of fine craftsmanship. Our classes and workshops are taught by nationally acclaimed local and visiting artists who regularly bring their experience and creative energies to our unique institution. We invite you to be creative, and encourage you to learn and grow within our artistic community of talented faculty, inspired students and generous volunteers and supporters. Students can explore basketry, beadwork, blacksmithing, bladesmithing, ceramics, glass, jewelrymaking and metalsmithing, fiber and weaving, woodturning and woodworking. Other areas of special interest include photography, paper and book arts, decorative arts, painting and drawing, business and marketing for artists. Our Campus and Facilities Our historic 2.5 acre campus is located six miles north of Danbury, Connecticut, on the banks of the Still River, with a vintage Mill Building as its centerpiece. Our six vintage buildings house seven fully-equipped studios, an exhibition gallery, a retail craft gallery and gift shop, and housing for visiting faculty. The mission of Brookfield Craft Center is to teach and preserve the skills of fine craftsmanship and enable creativity and personal growth through craft education.
