Brighton Aldridge Community Academy (BACA) is a 11-18 state-funded school based close to Sussex & Brighton University campuses at Falmer. Our mission is to ensure all BACA students benefit from an excellent education, secure great qualifications and develop into young adults who are the first choice recruits for universities and employers.
The academy is rated Good by Ofsted and in addition to academic success we aim to inspire each of our students to develop the knowledge and skills they need to follow their passions into a successful future. Through encouraging an enterprising mindset we enable students to thrive in today's rapidly-changing technological world. We teach students to be innovative and resilient through promoting the Aldridge Attributes of teamwork, creativity, passion, problem solving, risk taking and determination in all aspects of Academy life.
Our students also benefit from a rich offer in terms of the creative arts and sports , based on partnerships with organisations including BIMM (British and Irish Modern Music Institute), and BRICTT (Brighton Institute for Contemporary Theatre Training), a nationally renowned performing arts training provider. We work closely with over sixty digital media companies from across Sussex who are partners in our Digital Media courses, and with Sussex Cricket. BACA's sports facilities are exceptional and our football, cricket and table tennis academies allow students to combine high-quality training with academic studies. Our community of industry partners, employer links and innovative programmes with neighbouring universities offer students a comprehensive careers advice program.
