Founded in 1996 by IT-industry and software-development veterans, Boffin began as one of only a few translation and localization service providers in China. We started out translating software UI and manuals in a single local language. Today, almost 23 years on, we have translated more than 400 million words in over 55 language combinations. We also expanded to provide translation-related services like desktop publishing, transcription, voice-over, subtitling, video engineering and more to many of the most well-known firms across Asia, Europe, and the US. Today, at Boffin, our team of over 70 professionals serves our clients from three global offices: Toronto, Canada Shenzhen, China Changsha, China According to Common Sense Advisory (CSA), the localization industry's leading research organization, Boffin was ranked as one of Asia's top 30 language service providers in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Since moving our headquarters to Canada, we were ranked in the top 40 in 2017 among North America's highest-earning language service providers.
