Bob Brown Foundation takes Action for Earth to protect Australia's wild and scenic natural places of ecological and global significance.
Our foundation is a non-profit association campaigning to protect
• The wild and scenic beauty of Tasmania
• The ecological integrity of Australia
• The happiness of humanity on Earth
Our main focus is on protecting the stunning takayna / Tarkine wilderness in North West Tasmania. takayna is a vast wilderness area including Australia's largest tract of cool temperate rainforest, wild windswept beaches, extensive buttongrass plains and pristine wild rivers. It is of great significance to Tasmania's Aboriginal people and a relict of the ancient continent of Gondwana, related to temperate forests in Patagonia and the South Island of New Zealand.
Our campaign for takayna is calling for its recognition as a National Park and World Heritage Area and returned to Aboriginal ownership.
We are also campaigning to:
• end native forest logging in Australia
• stop the fishing of krill, a keystone species for entire ecosystems
• save the critically endangered Swift Parrot and the habitat they depend on for survival
• protect the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area from logging, mining and inappropriate tourism development
• remove industrial fish farms from Tasmania's oceans and waterways
• end draconian laws targeting peaceful protest with huge fines and prison sentences
• expose the global misdeeds of the Adani group and the social and environmental damage they are wreaking
