Bluesat is one of UNSW's oldest project societies and has been the center of space engineering for students since 1997. We have designed and developed dozens of projects from start to finish, including (but not limited to) satellites, high-altitude weather balloons, rovers, drones, astronautical software packages and more.
A significant majority of our events are open to all UNSW students. This includes workshops, social events (movies, games nights, outings), industry events, career opportunities and competitions. If you think the space industry is cool, we know we have something for you and are eager to meet you.
If you're looking to get more involved, we run several cutting-edge projects and are looking for students with a wide variety of backgrounds. In many positions, a willingness to learn and good teamworking skills are all you need to apply - we will teach you the rest.
For our projects positions, we are currently looking for:
* Engineers (electrical, telecom, mechatronic, mechanical, computer and manufacturing).
* Programmers (software engineering, computer science, related)
* Mathematics and science students (physics and materials science)
If your degree is not in the above list, don't worry. If you think you'll do well in a project we always want to hear from you. Provided you will work well in a team and have any neccesary prerequisite knowledge to be able to pick up the engineering skills involved in a reasonable amount of time, there is nothing to worry about (e.g. we expect a baseline understanding of electronics and signals for a radio engineer).
Our operations team listings are also available from above, and we are always on the lookout for:
* Skilled strategists and those with good business skills
* Graphic designers, content creators and artists
* People with strong marketing and event planning skills
... and more.
