Blue West helicopters was founded back in 2006 by Sigtryggur ‘Diddi’ Kristofersson after he parted from another company in the same year. He developed on his huge portfolio, experience and reputation within the industry and now leads Icelands premier helicopter service. After carefully selecting a highly experienced crew with a staggering average of 3,000+ flight hours each, he started work on various projects under BWH. In 2008 they pioneered a major contract in Greenland. The company was founded upon one priority for each flight – safety. In an environment like ours with harsh weather conditions during the winters and unforgiving landscapes, our pilots have to be able to deal with any obstacles that they are confronted with during a flight. With a mixed background ranging from military experience, sar and arctic sling operators, you can be assured you are in safe hands. Our goal is to constantly imporve our standards and raise the bar in performance which is why we invest more into our personnel and aircrafts than any other company on the island. With up to date crafts and professional pilots we leave nothing to chance.
