The answer is Biochar, now what was the question? Having secured grant support of £319,000 from DEFRA supported by SEED funding of £116,000 from angel syndicate Apollo Informal Investments in December 2022 we have succeeded in creating a unique biogenic carbon negative fertiliser which can be applied through existing farm machinery. This transformational and disruptive product is currently undergoing field trials in East Yorkshire and Fife, and is behaving in the soil exactly as we anticipated. Pending the harvest later this year we are looking to develop strategic partnerships with global fertiliser companies and major food growers/buyers to both further our research and allow us to build a full scale demonstration production plant. We are delighted to be at the forefront of this cutting edge project which has the potential to accelerate the switch to regenerative agriculture and reduce GHG emissions as well as helping farmers achieve their 2040 net zero target. A unique part of our proposition is to offer consumers and companies the opportunity to buy ISO approved certificates demonstrating the production of sufficient Biochar to completely offset their Carbon footprints, .
