BEN CURRIE HAS BEEN GRANTED A 12-MONTH TESTIMONIAL BY THE RUGBY FOOTBALL LEAGUE.
The Wire's England international second-rower has been recognised for his long service to the game, good character and service to the community.
Ben is a product of the club’s Academy system and came through the ranks before making his first team debut against Widnes Vikings in 2012. He was part of the squad that won the Challenge Cup that season as well as lifting the trophy in 2019 with a Wembley win over St Helens.
He has made 229 appearances for the club across 11 seasons scoring 88 tries. He was also top try-scorer in 2016 when Warrington lifted the League Leaders’ Shield and scored in the Challenge Cup Final that season. The following year he represented England in the World Cup final and has seven appearances for the national side in total, as well as appearing for Ireland in the 2013 tournament.
Ben has chosen four charities to support for his testimonial year - The Down’s Syndrome Association, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Alzheimer’s Society and Cancer Research UK.
A Testimonial match is set to be held in his honour prior to the start of the 2023 season, with several other events to be announced in due course.
