The Great Bend campus is the main campus for Barton. We are located high atop a hill on 160 acres three miles northeast of Great Bend across the road from Bissells Point. The campus includes eight buildings in the main section of campus with four phases of student housing, the Cougar fields, and the Midwest Utility Pipeline Training Center located on the outskirts. We serve the surrouning counties including Russell, Ellsworth, Rush, Rice, and Pawnee. Barton has partnerships to the Kansas Department of Corrections in addition to the correctional facilities within our service area: Ellsworth Correctional Facility, Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility and Larned Juvenile Correctional Facility.
Fort Riley, home of "The Big Red One," is known for its excellent training, abundant recreational opportunities, rich history, and tremendous relations with surrounding communities. Barton Community College's proud association with Fort Riley and the U.S. Army began in 1984 with a single training contract and has continued to grow in support of the Army, its soldiers, their families, and the Junction City community.
Our Grandview Plaza branch which is home to the Hazardous Materials and Emergency Management programs, as well as a global online education program called BARTonline. We also recently developed a partnership to serve military service members at Fort Leavenworth.
