Based on over 35 years of total community banking experience, 18 years of asset liability management and bank board experience, 10 years as CEO, and countless years of regulatory interactions, I recognized the need for a better management tool and the BankProforma Excel-based model was born. The BankProforma glass box approach was designed so that management could see their data, their key driver assumptions and the mechanics of how the model calculates and see immediate results. The typical black box models were designed decades ago, their logic is largely hidden and the results are difficult to integrate into the bank’s financial planning system.
