BOIL is real-life test and experimentation environment for user-driven open innovation. BOIL enables the co‐creation of user‐driven and Open Data based research, development and innovation of technologies, product and services focused on well-being of people.
BOIL also applies user-driven innovation in policy making by integrating the OpenStreetMap platform, open spatial data, non Geo spatial data, open government and non-government data produced by different government and non-government agencies.
Our focus is to build a community that supports the Open Data and uptake of the Living Lab paradigm, Empowering everyone to innovate BOIL focuses on collecting information and achieved experienced on community issues all over Bangladesh and bring the information on the open platform in spatial and non-spatial manner to enhance the coordination among the concerned agencies as well as the cross boundary, To organize training on OpenStreetMap, QGIS, GeoNode, Open Layers, Carto in an integrated approach for addressing and solving the community issues such as (a) Tagging and mapping the vulnerable communities through OpenStreetMap; (b) Pre-disaster mapping in pro poor communities; (c) Disaster response initiative by open data; (d) Strengthening the community by ICT knowledge;(e) Training on object-oriented data analysis and visualization and (f) Hands on training on bridging data portals. It provides consultancy and support in the field of education, training, data mining data management, digital
innovation and Information technology-based solution, research, etc. & assist the smooth implementation of different kind of development projects.
Our approach relies on solving real world problems through the proper utilization of open-data & open source technologies using various open data platforms. Ensuring the participation of people from the root by providing easy to use mobile based application, while building partnership with like-minded organizations and communities.
