BASIS is the national trade body for the software and IT-enabled service industry in Bangladesh. Established in 1997 with 17 charter members, we now boast over two thousand members who contribute significantly to the country's software and IT services revenue.
Our focus is on our seven key pillars: i. Human Resources Development, ii. Developing Local Market Scenario, iii. Developing International Market, iv. Creating a Thriving Ecosystem for Startups, v. Industry Promotion, vi. Access to Finance, and vii. Formulating Policies to Help Grow Intangible Assets.
Our guiding principle is "Every Member Matters," which emphasizes the significance of each member's contribution to our objectives and ensures that everyone feels valued and included in the decision-making process. We have launched a short code (16488) that provides a one-stop solution for member companies, ensuring that every customer interaction is a positive experience.
We organize various notable events including the BASIS Outsourcing Awards, BASIS National ICT Awards, BASIS Luna Shamsuddoha Award, NASA Space Apps Challenge, APICTA and our flagship event, "BASIS SOFTEXPO," is the largest technology congress in South Asia.
In addition, BASIS regularly publishes a software and IT service catalog/directory to promote local solution providers to potential business clients and arrange knowledge sharing sessions, seminars and roundtables throughout the year. To foster market growth in the government sector, we collaborate closely with various government ministries and agencies, striving to play a catalytic role that empowers our members to provide effective support and technical guidance for different government initiatives aligned with the "Smart Bangladesh" vision of the current government. Along with these market development initiatives, we also offer IT procurement advisory services to clients in both the public and private sectors.
