Bahrain Public Transport Company (BPTC) is a private joint venture between leading UK-based international transport providers, National Express PLC, and Bahrain-based Ahmed Mansour Al Aali (AMA), the largest and longest-established contracting and construction group in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
BPTC boasts over twenty-five years of experience operating similar services across North America, Europe and North Africa. Our strength is in our ability to blend international expertise with local knowledge.
BPTC was appointed by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT) under a 10-year concession agreement to operate the Kingdom of Bahrain’s new Public Transport Network in accordance with international standards and practices. Under the supervision and regulation of the MTT, BPTC is responsible for the operation of the entire public bus network as well as the provision of the upgraded buses, related equipment, and passenger terminal infrastructure.
We have made substantial investments in the new network largely driven through Bahrain Public Transport Company’s (BPTC) substantial financial investment to upgrade the infrastructure to modern standards. Our strategy is a three-pronged approach geared towards Safety, Connectivity and Technology. BPTC has employed a combination of internationally-acclaimed safety programs, intensive driver training, a comprehensive fare system and a fleet of technologically advanced vehicles, to ensure the new public transport model offers the highest in safety and customer service standards - maximizing reach, connectivity, accessibility and delivering an enhanced travel experience.
Our team are here for you and we welcome comments and feedback from our passengers. We will work hard with you, and the Ministry of Transportation, to deliver a world-class service to the Kingdom of Bahrain!
