We are globally known Research & Development institution specialized in maritime science, naval architecture and marine engineering. Founded as military institute and marine technology development centre back in 1948, we gained broad experience and knowledge in field of maritime technologies.
Starting with vessel concept, through preliminary calculations and detailed design, supported by state-of-the-art experiments and tests carried out in our „in-house“ laboratories, all the way to sea trials and full scale testing; several hundred projects of navy as well as commercial craft, including submarines, have been developed and tested at Brodarski Institut.
Today, decades of continuous experience and knowledge, carefully and systematically stored in our internal archive, gives us slide advantage over competitors and best starting point for coping with new challenges in ship hydrodynamics (with advanced towing tank testing capabilities), ship design, sea trials, and maritime technology in general, that are main focal points in our work today.
In the future our goal is to keep and elevate our status of well recognised and globally reputable development centre involved in state-of-the-art maritime technologies by participating in commercial and research projects as development centre and expert consultants.
Thus, our team with all the knowledge, experience and facilities are open to new business opportunities.
Some of our facilities: Large towing tank (276,3 m x 12.5 m x 6 m; Carriage speed range: 0.014 – 14 m/s) with Wave generator (waves up to 0.7 m height), Cavitation tunnel (sections 2m x 1m and 1m x 1m, water velocity up to 10 m/s), Vibration laboratory, Acoustic Laboratory and more. Over 1450 ship models and 1200 propeller models tested in our facilities.
Prominent projects: Corvete Missile – RTOP11, Patrol Craft - PC42, Submarines class Heroj & Sava, Police Patrol Craft - SCP14, Passenger catamaran Millennium Diamond, Series of Fishing Vessels, M/Y Adriana
