My journey as an artist began with street art while I was living in Amsterdam. I was fascinated by its aesthetics and its potential to bring about social change.
Some of my most acclaimed murals include the 4-story building mural for the Rumney Guggenheim Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the Red Market mural for Palladium Boots, the backdrop for Pretty Light's concert at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, and the Wynwood mural for Art Basel Miami.
My work has been featured in both group and solo exhibitions around the world. I've had the privilege of showcasing my art at galleries such as Moniker Projects in London, GoGallery in Amsterdam, Art Bastion in Miami, and the grand opening of the Rumney Guggenheim Gallery in Brooklyn, NYC, alongside artists like Olek, Swoon, Olivia Steel, and Lady Aiko.
Boxhead has gained recognition in publications like HiFructose and various street art magazines, as well as in several books, including 'Women Street Artists,' 'The Wynwood Colouring Book,' and 'New Street Art.'
Since 2021, I have been actively involved in the NFT space, focusing on digital art and contributing to the development of Web3 and the metaverse.
All of my artistic creations revolve around a character I've named 'Boxhead.' To me, Boxhead represents all of us.
The box represents our inner space, housing our fears, dreams, and ideals. This box grants anonymity to the character while also revealing a mysteriously approachable vulnerability. Through Boxhead, I aim to challenge conventional notions of identity and selfhood.
In my work I talk about the human condition and mental health through themes of self-compassion, identity, communication, our inner child, struggles and achievements... Boxhead represents all of us, the box holds our inner space, our fears, our dreams and ideals.
I work with a variety of artistic mediums, including street art, canvas and digital painting, animation (both 2D and 3D), and sculpture.
