Borsani Angelo SRL traces its origins back to 1914 when, with limited resources but extensive experience in iron craftsmanship, it began producing latches and screws for cabinets in small series. During World War I, the founder Angelo remained alone, awaiting the return of his son Ermenegildo from the front.
Upon Ermenegildo's return, he collaborated with his father and transformed the small workshop into an innovative company by introducing new technologies and expanding the production of furniture hardware. It was the first in Italy to manufacture profiled brass hinges, previously imported from Germany.
The Second World War brought challenging years with a shortage of raw materials and men called to arms. After the war, thanks to the Marshall Plan, the company resumed its technological evolution. Ermenegildo's sons, Giancarlo and Giuseppe, joined the company, bringing expertise in optimizing production processes and handling commercial and administrative aspects.
Giancarlo patented the EASY-ON hinge in 1967, an innovative product that gained global recognition. Borsani became internationally known, exporting 70% of its production. Towards the late 1980s, Giancarlo's children assumed key roles in the company.
However, the early 2000s witnessed the loss of brothers Giuseppe and Giancarlo. The fourth generation found themselves facing increasingly fierce competition from the Far East, prompting the company to optimize production, invest in automation, and enhance material quality.
In 2007, after over 90 years at the old headquarters in Saronno, the company relocated to the industrial zone of Origgio. Despite the challenges, Borsani Angelo SRL continues to uphold the tradition of quality, remaining competitive in the market through prudent choices and enduring investments.
The "Made in Italy" label remains synonymous with quality, a value upon which the company continues to build its reputation.
