Suicide is the number one cause of death for all Australians aged between 15 & 44. The Australian Suicide Prevention Foundation provides Australia-wide suicide prevention & intervention 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have been funded solely by donations from the public since our foundation in 1997. We base our intervention programme on the availability and accessibility of internet technology to provide immediate answers & recommendations to the user suffering severe emotional pain irrespective of the time and location, without relying on the availability of counsellors. We buy time for isolated people. We provide accessible and stigma-free practical information and recommendations through the use of readily accessible, easy to understand websites that attract thousands of users per month.
