Since 1975, the Australia Philippines Business Council has fostered friendship, understanding and mutual benefit between the business communities of both countries. Through over 40 years of building business networks as well as continuing close association with relevant Australian and Philippine government entities, the APBC has developed a reputation as the 'go to' private sector organisation when it comes to advancing business interests between the two countries.
The APBC attracts members from many industries based in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and the Philippines. Today more than 50 organisations ranging from SMEs to large, high profile companies are part of the APBC network.
The Council works in close partnership with key business and government entities such as Austrade, the Philippine and Australian embassies, the Philippine Consulate General, Philippine Department of Tourism, Philippine Department of Trade and industry, the Makati Business Club and the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP).
The APBC also works closely with allied organisations in the Philippines, such as the Philippine Australia Business Council (PABC), the Australian New Zealand Chamber of Commerce (ANZCham) and the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry Inc. based in Manila.
The APBC Board meets on a monthly basis to address issues and matters of interest presented by its different committees. Through its executive committee, the Council develops programs and events aimed at fostering better business between the two countries as well as assisting members achieve their business objectives.
