The Astaldi Group handles the activities in the United States of America through Astaldi Construction Corporation, a US company based in Florida. Astaldi Construction Corporation has two main business units: · Heavy Civil Infrastructure Projects; · Procurement and Engineering Services. Astaldi Construction Corporation is prequalified with several public authorities including the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), as well as other various local administrations (counties and cities). The company is also member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) since 2008, and has also established business partnerships with local partners in order to explore possible renewable energy-related projects in North America. Astaldi Construction Corporation has performed several projects in Florida since the early 90’s including but not limited to Heavy Highways and Bridges, Public Buildings, Airports and Water Treatment Plants. The projects currently in progress (or recently completed) mainly refer to Heavy Highways, Bridges and Roads infrastructure works, performed on behalf of the FDOT and on behalf of local Authorities and Counties. The most relevant FDOT projects in progress are the SR-93 (I-75) widening in Sarasota County; Spanish River and I-95 Interchange; Veterans Expressway (SR-589) from Memorial Highway to North of Barry Road; State Road 490A - W Halls River Road from West of Halls River to East of Halls River. The State Road 823 (NW 57th Avenue) Project in Miami-Dade County (FDOT-D6) has been completed in 2012 and has been awarded the “Florida’s Best in Construction – Urban” award from the Florida Transportation Builders Association (FTBA).
