The Associated Students of the University of Washington Tacoma (ASUWT) is the officially recognized student government at UW Tacoma. All active UWT students are eligible to join by opting in during quarterly class registration online or by requesting to become a member in person. Membership in ASUWT is free and entitles students to vote in student government elections, apply for student government staff and senate positions and participate in all activities sponsored by ASUWT.
The mission of ASUWT aims to:
• Represent and promote student interests, needs, and welfare within the university community through committee representation and administrative level interactions;
• Provide for the expression of student opinion and interests to the community at large through community involvement;
• Assist the University in providing physical and social environments that are student centered.
